The Ambulars, “Nothing to Say from Miles Away”

The Ambulars
“Nothing to Say from Miles Away” EP

It’s no secret that we at Totally Crushed Out totes have a major crush on the four-piece pop-punkers the rest of the world knows as The Ambulars. But why wouldn’t anyone like them? Their brand of melodic indie rock leaves us humming their tunes for days, sometimes weeks. For all their hard work and attempts to be active band despite regional divisions, they’ve given us a little more than three EPs, which is the biggest cock tease ever.

Still, I can’t complain about their latest release, “Nothing to Say From Miles Away.” It’s three songs, one of which (“The Pilot”) seems to be an introduction. But that doesn’t take away anything from the other songs “Marianne and Ferdinand” and “Ghastly District,” two very strong pop rock songs in their own right, particularly the latter, with its message of township dismay.

Personally, I would love to hear an Ambulars full-length, but beggars can’t be choosers and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with listening to these three jams on repeat.
